The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate's dedicated entity for heritage, culture and the arts, is continuing its series of artistic events as part of the second Dubai Art Season, and has invited art enthusiasts to be part of the signage installations on Kite Beach, Dubai. The aim of the project is to give life to damaged road signs & repurpose them as art pieces that will be displayed across kite beach as part of a joint collaboration with the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA).
This unique public art initiative brings a new form of public art to the city by giving the creative community an opportunity to express their innovative ideas, redesign the signage and create their very own art work. It is also a sustainable development initiative as the signage is being recycled aesthetically, giving the area a whole new artistic appeal.
Designed to encourage the local community to be part of the Dubai art scene, art lovers can head every day from 4 to 7pm, until April 30, 2015, to Kite Beach to begin producing their unique masterpieces.
Dubai Art Season strives to preserve the aspects of Emirati heritage by nurturing local talents to enhance the city's cultural diversity and social cohesion through a diverse selection of events within Dubai.
