Dubai Culture Stages Musical Performance as Part of ‘Melodies of Happiness’ initiative at Dubai Airport
Dubai, United Arab Emirates,25 April 2018: Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated entity for culture, arts and heritage, has staged a musical performance as part of the ‘Melodies of Happiness’ initiative hosted in Dubai International Airport. The performance showcased a variety of musical genres from different nationalities and cultures to position Dubai as a sustainable and global city full of culture, heritage, art and literature.
The event focused on exposing travellers to national arts and bringing the heritage and culture of the UAE to life through four 20-minute themed performances highlighting the following folk dances: Al Bahriya, Nham, Al Mezmar and Al Harbiya.
The ‘Melodies of Happiness’ initiative supports Dubai Culture’s efforts to make happiness one of the main pillars of life in the UAE, and spread a culture of positivity via its various events and activities. The initiative also aims to motivate the Authority’s employees to learn more about Dubai’s heritage and arts through events and projects that support the ‘Dubai Plan 2021’, which aims to strengthen happiness across Dubai’s multi-cultural society.
Dubai Culture aims to enhance Dubai’s cultural scene and draw attention to the Emirate’s rich heritage with a variety of initiatives that take place throughout the year. The Authority’s mandate is to build bridges of constructive dialogue between different civilisations and cultures through enriching initiatives that benefit the Emirate’s citizens, residents and visitors.
