Her Highness Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is actively engaged in culture, arts, education, and technology in the UAE, and plays a major role in ensuring the cross-incubation of these industries through her post as Chairperson of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture).

Among her many ambitions for Dubai is to realise the citys creative economy and to foster an environment of cultural production as an intrinsic part of everyday life.

With people at the heart of her vision, Sheikha Latifa is at the forefront of Dubais key socio-cultural initiatives which, collectively, contribute to the steady growth of the UAEs cultural ecosystem and infrastructures.

Under her patronage and leadership, Dubai Culture has launched its flagship Dubai Art Season, which includes Art Dubai, the leading international art fair in the region, and SIKKA Art Fair, an artist-led initiative of fully commissioned works. Additional initiatives held under her patronage include Dubai Design Week, the regions largest creative festival; and Global Grad Show, the world-first exhibition of graduate works from leading design and technology institutions.

Through her role as Vice Chairman of the Emirates Literature Foundation, the organizer of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, she advocates for literacy, and promotes the right to learn and sustain a culture of reading. Most recently, she launched several initiatives to renovate and modernise Dubais Public Libraries, one of Dubai Culture & Arts Authoritys mandates.

Sheikha Latifas vision for Dubais creative economy is built upon the belief that the culture of progress and innovation is driven by the ideas of its people. To enable this, Her Highness has been at the helm of initiatives like Creatopia, an online platform for attracting and supporting talented creative entrepreneurs, as well as promoting occupational training, community service, and graduate consultancy programs.

With an astute insight honed by her father, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, and the unbridled ambition passed down from her grandfather the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Sheikha Latifa aspires to position Dubai as the leading cultural centre in the Middle East and North Africa.

Her Highness holds an Executive MBA with Honours and a graduate degree in Business Sciences specialised in Marketing from Zayed University, and has participated in numerous leadership training programs. Sheikha Latifa started her career at Dubai Culture when the authority was established in 2008.
