Dubai Culture presents an exciting package of activities for participants of the Dubai Public Library Summer Camp, which will be held over two weeks, the first from 15 to 26 July, and the second from 5 to 16 August. The camp, themed ‘Our Summer is Full of Arts and Innovation,’ will be hosted at Al Safa Art & Design Library, Al Rashidiya, Al Twar, Umm Suqeim, Al Mankhool and Hatta public libraries. Aiming to broaden horizons and enhance the spirit of innovation, the camp features a diverse range of interactive workshops.

Those aged 5 to 9 will be introduced to innovative farming techniques, methods for creating sustainable farms, and ways to control robots in smart farm management. They will also learn about shadow farming, fostering creativity and teamwork, while ages 9 to 14 will explore methods for creating smart cities. They will be instructed in innovative urban planning techniques, including using recycled materials, and types of smart systems. Additionally, they will engage in drawing and colouring murals inspired by the Smart Farm & City track, led by the artists Najat Makki, Magdy Al Kafrawi, and Rabab Tantawi.

In the Innovative Projects Village track, participants will create creative products influenced by different cultures worldwide. They will encounter logo design and colour selection and explore traditional and modern products using images and storytelling. Moreover, the enrolees will be shown ‘Shark Tank’ strategies in entrepreneurship, product development, pricing, marketing, and creating advertising campaigns. On the respective last days of the camps, youngsters shall showcase their work and projects at the ‘Art Projects Expo,’ where a specialised jury will evaluate them and select the winners.

Throughout the summer camp, Al Safa Art and Design Library will host the Second-Hand Book Fair, offering a valuable collection of used books at nominal prices. The exhibition aims to spread knowledge and encourage the next generation to read. It is scheduled to be open from 8 AM to 8 PM Sunday through Thursday and from 8 AM to 12 PM Friday.
