Dubai Culture opens call for ‘Harakat Sikka’ to nurture the UAE’s next-gen animators

Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) is now accepting applications for Harakat Sikka, a stop-motion animation and visual storytelling training programme under the Sikka Platform. The initiative advances the Authority’s mission to empower emerging creatives and enrich Dubai’s cultural landscape.
Open to UAE nationals and residents aged 18 and above, the course welcomes students, artists, designers, filmmakers and writers. Sessions take place at House 436 in Al Shindagha Historical Neighbourhood under artist-director Boubaker Boukhari.
The programme is scheduled from 18 August to 26 September 2025. The group of ten participants will meet three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) for an immersive, hands-on learning experience.
Applications must be submitted no later than 8 August, and candidates will be selected based on their demonstrated interest in animation and, where applicable, the submission of a CV or creative portfolio.
