Latifa bint Mohammed meets Republic of Koreas First Lady
Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) and member of the Dubai Council, today met with First Lady Kim Keon Hee, spouse of President Yoon Suk Yeol of South Korea, who is on an official visit to the UAE.
During the meeting that took place at the Museum of the Future in Dubai, Her Highness welcomed the First Lady who is accompanying the South Korean President on his visit.
The meeting highlighted the strong partnership between the UAE and South Korea and ways to boost cooperation as well as the two countries’ shared value in the importance of enhancing culture and creativity’s impact.
Her Highness and the First Lady discussed Dubai’s thriving cultural and creative industry and its leading position within the region as well as its strive to cement its status as a global cultural and creative center. They also discussed the means to support joint cooperation in the fields of creativity and knowledge exchange to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai for the cultural industry in Dubai and the future aspirations of the UAE, while simultaneously serving South Korean goals and aspirations.
Her Highness affirmed that this meeting will contribute to strengthening international cooperation especially in the field of culture and creativity, stressing Dubai and the UAE’s ambition to build strong international partnerships and to benefit from their advanced experiences in various fields. She also spoke of the importance of communication and cultural participation in enriching effective creative experiences, which lay the foundation for building a strong and sustainable infrastructure that contributes to the prosperity of the creative economy, of which Dubai aspires to be its global capital.
As part of the visit, HH Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed and First Lady Kim Keon Hee toured the Museum of the Future accompanied by Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth; Her Excellency Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, His Excellency Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation; and several members of the South Korean delegation.
During the tour, the First Lady was briefed on the Museum of the Future’s unique design, its exceptional creativity and unprecedented architectural innovation, as well as its role in shaping the future. She praised Dubai’s efforts, which contributed to strengthening the innovation and knowledge-based economy as well as cementing its global leadership in numerous fields, emphasizing that the Museum of the Future is a distinguished scientific and intellectual centre, consititing meaningful addition to the emirate’s cultural scene, and enhances it’s position as a global destination for innovation and technology, she said.
