Dubai Public Library Winter Camp: Winter of Challenge & Creativity

Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) presents a new edition of the Dubai Public Libraries Winter Camp across Al Safa Art & Design Library, Al Rashidiya Library, Al Twar Library, Umm Suqeim Library, Al Mankhool Library, Hatta Library and Kutubna Cultural Center – Nad Al Hammar, from 15 to 26 December. Held under the theme ‘Winter of Challenge & Creativity’, the camp offers a rich programme of workshops led by specialists in art, sports, and handcrafts in an engaging environment, along with additional creative activities.
Designed for children aged 5 to 14, the camp features hands-on activities in acrylic painting, pottery, 3D art, sand painting, and shadow theatre, alongside sports challenges and collaborative games that encourage creativity, confidence, and teamwork. Participants will also explore creative handicrafts—such as pen decorating, pillow printing, and cup-wire design—along with heritage-focused workshops introducing traditional Emirati crafts including Al Sqa’a and Al Talli, deepening their appreciation of local culture. The programme concludes with a final exhibition celebrating all artworks produced by the children.
The camp will also host the Second-Hand Book Fair at Al Safa Art & Design Library, open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday–Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays (closed on Saturdays). Offering a wide selection of quality books at affordable prices ranging from AED 3 to AED 10, the fair promotes book sustainability and encourages community exchange.
