Library Talks Sheds Light on Writing Techniques for Young Adult Fiction

As part of its Library Talks initiative under the School of Life umbrella and Dubai’s Quality of Life Strategy, Dubai Culture is organising a workshop titled ‘Writing Techniques for Young Adult Fiction,’ taking place from 13 to 15 February. Hosted at Al Safa Art & Design Library, the session aims to deepen participants’ understanding of the genre and help them create stories that resonate with teenage readers.

Led by novelist Taghreed Alnajjar, the three-day programme will explore core features of young adult fiction, from character development to storytelling techniques. Attendees will learn how to structure chapters, craft compelling openings, and build narratives that hold together. Practical exercises will help refine their writing and support them in producing distinctive work that combines idea, creativity, and style.
