Dubai Culture supports ‘Kuwait Alsalam – Emarat Al Wafa’

The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated Authority for culture, arts, and heritage, is extending its support in organising the ‘Kuwait Alsalam – Emarat Al Wafa’ festival to be held on January 16 and 17, 2015, from 5pm to 10pm at the Al Shindagha Historical Neighbourhood.

In addition to celebrating the UAE’s success globally, the festival will also salute His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah of Kuwait on being conferred the title of The Humanitarian Commander by the United Nations for the outstanding role of Kuwait in supporting global humanitarian issues.

This event highlights the close ties between both countries as well as the UAE’s continuous support to strengthen their bilateral relationship. The festival, which will be open to the public, will also celebrate the success of the UAE in winning the bid to host the World Expo 2020 in Dubai.

Dr Salah Al Qassim, Advisor to the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, said: “The Kuwaiti-Emirati festival is a celebration of the deep relations between the two nations, further strengthened through the bonds of our Arabian heritage. By honouring the accomplishments of the UAE, the festival further strengthens the bonds between the people of the two nations. The cultural showcase will be a fascinating experience for all visitors who can learn more about the heritage of the two countries.”

The Kuwaiti-Emirati festival will feature colourful performances and eminent cultural figures from both nations taking part in the event. The festival will also feature creative and interactive workshops as well as a dedicated section for the younger audiences. Several stalls will be set up for visitors to purchase traditional Kuwaiti and Emirati items.

The festival will pay rich tribute to the accomplishments of the UAE through creative shows by talented artists. The activities include unique artwork pieces, fashion shows inspired by the deep rooted traditions of both countries and concerts featuring well-known Kuwaiti and Emirati artists, TV, cinema and musical celebrities including Fayez Al Saeed from the UAE and Ibrahim Dashti from Kuwait. Ali Al Khawar will showcase a compelling poetic piece with a special recital performance which will mark the spirit of unity shared by the UAE and Kuwait.
