Dubai Culture becomes first entity in MENA
to receive ISO 20000-1: 2018 certification
Dubai – United Arab Emirates, July 8, 2019: Demonstrating excellence as an integral part of its operations, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has been granted the ISO 20000-1: 2018 - IT Service Management System certification by the British Standards Institution (BSI), making it the first entity in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to receive the prestigious recognition.
The certification comes as a remarkable achievement for the Information Technology (IT) department of the Authority which has been recognised for its efforts in development and excellence, and seamless adoption of applications, best practices, and administrative systems, as per the global standards. This accreditation confirms that the technical and digital systems being used by the department are in line with the latest updates and standards of the Technical Services Management System.
Mohamed Al Hammadi, Director of Information Technology Department said, "Receiving the ISO 20000-1: 2018 - IT Service Management System certification is a significant achievement for the department and the Authority, as it not only affirms our technical readiness to excel but also underlines our commitment to highest standards across the departments and sections. This accomplishment is a team work, wherein all the members have put in best of their efforts to meet the global standards in IT and digital spheres. With this we are motivated to maintain the quality of our work and set an example for private and public entities in the country and the region."
It is notable that BSI is one of the best international institutions specialising in auditing administrative systems and issuing certification in accordance to the standards of ISO. Since its inception, the Authority has developed and implemented an institutional framework to ensure integration of all elements of its IT systems, while committing to quality. The new certification also evaluates the department in terms of promoting effective and efficient technical performance at various functional levels.
